Diversity, Inclusion, Culture and Equality in Biosciences

I believe that equity, diversity, inclusivity and social justice are essential components of a good department culture and science more broadly. As Director of EDI I lead the work of the Diversity, Inclusion, Culture and Equality (DICE) committee and sit on the Department Leadership Team to ensure that department culture and inclusivity are at the heart of decision making and the work of the department.  We strive to create an inclusive community, where all feel represented and supported including our minoritised staff and students, and to empower people to challenge discrimination.

Biosciences at the University of Exeter is proud to be an open and inclusive department where the diversity of our staff and students contributes to our success in education and research.

We are working towards an inclusive, kind, respectful culture in the department where everyone feels they belong and are valued.

We are committed to maintaining an inclusive environment for all our staff and students, regardless of their age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.
